Fish Sit Close to Philly But Atlanta On A Streak

The Marlins have turned around what seemed last week to be a horrible home-stand. They started the homestand with 10 games and 6 games into it they were 2-4. Now we are 5-5 in our past 10 games and sitting just a 1.5 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the #2 spot int he NL East. The Florida Marlins sit 4.5 games out of first place which is now held by the "Hot-lanta Braves".

The Atlanta Braves are on a 9 game winning streak and they are pulling away from the pack. It is time for the Marlins to hit their hot streak and the next 10 games we need to go 7-3 or 8-2 to have a chance to keep ourselves in contention for 1st coming into the mid-way point here at the end of June. Josh Johnson pitched well for the Marlins in their victory over the Brewers yesterday, but we need a couple more victories from the NY Mets who we begin a series with today.

Anibal Sanchez is set to throw for the Marlins today and the Mets R. A. Dickey taking the mound at Citi field. If we can get Coughlin back into form and keep Hanley and Uggla hitting well, then we can concentrate on the rest of the lineup producing and giving our pitchers some run support.

Game time today is 7:10 pm Citi Field.
